What is the best program out there to help learn how to trade stock options?
I am interested in learning to trade options. Foremost, I do understand that they are very volitle and risky, but I am looking for the best program to help me learn. I have heard of Optionetics, and options made easy. can anyone help me get started in learning to trade?

- I don't know what the optimum options course is, but thinkorswim.com is a good broker for trading small amounts of options to learn the ropes, and has tools to predict theoretical option prices based on price, time, or volitility movements. They do not have fundamental information, but have more technicals than you will know what to do with, including real time Prophet Charts which attempt to predict stock price movements based on patterns. They merged with Investools (investools.com) which has investing seminars and tools for quickly finding good stocks, covered call searches, option graphs, etc. I have only been through their basic stocks course, which includes some info on covered calls. They also have courses on options and advanced options. Stock trade commission is $5, and option commission for small trades is $2.95/contract ($1.50 for IT members). They even let you trade any options with known risks in an IRA account (except no naked calls). If I want to write a covered call at Fidelity it costs me $10.95 (silver level), and they will not even let me buy a call, much less sell a put or do a vertical spread (which I have all done in thinkorswim IRA).
- Hi, to be honest, it is not necessary to join any courses. I paid a hefty sum for a course which was supposed to be very good but I later realize that these information could be have from books. I would strongly recommend reading up yourself if you have the time and not the sort who needs to be forced. There are some pretty good resouces here for you to get started on Options Trading. http://invest-money-stocks.com/category/investment-instruments/options-trading
- I've also started with ThinkOrSwim which has helped find other avenues to understanding and trading Options. I've been using them for about 1.5 years. The platform is outrageously good. Service is great & free seminars are very helpful.
