Do I get a tax break from short term gains if I exercise my stock options and place it towards a down payment?

  1. The only remote chance would be if you used it for purchasing a house and it seems unlikely to me even then. Ask the IRS.
  2. No stock options are taxed as taxed as short term gains, you can use it for whatever you like but you won't get any tax break.
  3. Nope!
  4. No. The only way to reduce your taxes on this transaction would be to give it away to a qualified charity.
