Options Trading Tutorial

I need a good book or books about Investing?

I am looking for some really good books on investing. I'm talking about investing in stocks, bonds, forex, and options. But, I am looking for emphasis on stock trading( like trends and portfolio allocation). I am open to reading biographies or any other recommendations. Thanks! :)

  1. One Up On Wall Street by Peter Lynch Liar's Poker
  2. Those books don't exist. If they did, the financial guru's on Wall Street would not be begging for bail out money. They would have seen the meltdown coming and done something to prevent it. There's always a disclaimer that reads "Past performance does not guarantee future earnings." Which I interpret "We don't know what the heck happened in the past and have no idea of what's going to happen in the future. However, we'll take your money anyway and try to make money for ourselves first. Then we'll give you what's left over."
  3. Forex Tester - Professional Forex Training Software for Traders
  4. These two are great: http://www.amazon.com/Warren-Buffett-Interpretation-Financial-Statements/dp/1416573186/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1250891559&sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.com/Only-Investment-Guide-Youll-Ever/dp/0156029634/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1250891659&sr=8-1
  5. The Zulu Principle by Jim Slater is a classic of the genre.
  6. For Beginners- "Investing for Dummies" For Advanced- "The Intelligent Investor," "The New Buffettology." If you're a rookie in investing or stocks, go to www.finance.yahoo.com. Open up a portfolio without using real money. You can give yourself as much or as little money to try out the market. The stocks you want to focus on is consumer staples, consumer discretionary, and healthcare. These are DEFENSIVE stocks that will survive through good and bad times. Most of my positions are in these stocks. Some names include 3M, Procter & Gamble, Kimberly Clark, Exxon Mobil, Walmart, Costco. Everybody's got to eat and wipe their butts regardless of the state of economy. Many of these companies survived through the Great Depression. That's the benefits. You can sleep at night knowing your money is doing well. There are NO guarantees that you won't lose money. It's just that these stocks are the best. They pay good dividends too. Then once you're comfortable and test the waters of the market, you can finally put some real money in. Go to Scottrade.com. They're excellent for beginners. If you're new to stocks, DON'T DAY TRADE. You'll a rookie in a world of professionals. I tried day-trading with Citigroup and AIG when they were a little bit over $1. I had some luck at first, making about $30 a day but I was way over my head. My luck didn't last long and I had to rethink my strategy. Day trading involves A LOT of commissions to the broker. With all the commissions deducted from each trade, you'll be lucky if you only lose half your money. I would just day trade using Yahoo! Finance. Open a stimulation account, give yourself $100 worth of fake money and play it in the stimulation format. You'll see what I mean by losing money every easily. Good luck.
  7. I'm sorry to tell you this but it is going to take more than just reading a book to help you make the right investments choices. About 2 years ago I started reading everything I could about investing but it wasn't until I started to attend seminars and learn from some of the best investors out there that I started to see results. I can tell you that taking this journey has been the best decision I have every made. I am now in a position that I could work part time because my investing is becoming quite profitable and I am hoping that I can retire from full time work next year. If you would like to read more about my story I have started a blog. You can find it at http://buildingwealth.iiabblog.com/ You will also find a link to a free DVD. This is how I got started. It is the best thing I have ever done. My life will never be the same. I hope it helps you as much as it did me. All the best with your search. One last piece of advice. Don't give up the search. Keep looking until you find something that will help you to the live the life you want to live.
