Options Trading Tutorial

Where can I learn how to trade options in a school-type setting?

I've seen the web based sites, BUT I need a teacher, so I can ask questions. I need homework and tests so I know if I'm learning. I need instruction for the very slow learner.

  1. To begin, you may be asking for something that doesn't exist. In addition if you are a 'slow learner' as you said, perhaps the detailed fast-paced, fast-reaction world of trading options isn't for you. You might wish to stop in to a local broker's office and ask if they know of a location. In addition, you might wish to see if one of those "open universities" are near you where people in different fields teach classes. If someone gives you a better answer, then I"VE learned something today.
  2. Unlike trading stocks, options give you options. With options you can make money if the stock goes up, goes down or does not move. The best option training is also free. The CBOE has videos, online tutorials, and online classes. They don't have teachers in the sense of the word, but they have someone who can answer your questions. The only school type setting that I can think of is actually being trained by a brokerage firm.. When trading options, the physiology is completely different. You will have to work on that as well. Probably the best advice I can give you is, Do NOT go to a 3 or 5 day seminar taught by a Self-Proclaimed options expert. These guys make their money from teaching and not be trading. Good Luck,
  3. I am not so sure that there is not such a thing as you are asking I have read where high school classes have done just that, each day the class studies the stock market, they make believe their investing and keep track of how well they do, and surprisingly these children have done well also there are ladies' groups of investors who meet, probably every week, they work together and invest as one entity and share their profits, and they do quite well as well
