Are there any online brokers that let you sell uncovered options?

- Most do in a margin account. But it is dependent upon having adequate margin available. If thi sis important, be sure to ask about their rules before opening an account.
- You mean you want to sell puts? or do you mean YOU want to sell naked calls? Most every broker will allow you to do this as long as: 1. You have sufficient cash to meet margin requirements. 2. Have sufficient market experience as determined by the broker. 3. Have sufficient income, net worth, job stability to meet future market calls. 4. Have sufficient account balance when you open the account. If you have just a few thousand to do this, I would say that under SEC Rule 405, the broker will reject this level trading.
- yes. it would have to covered by margin, obviously. It's called writing.
- What Net Advisor said is all true. I would like to add, there are four levels of option approval from 0 through 3. You need to start with Level 0 and not get wiped out to gain experience.
- I think most brokers let you do that but they will ask for margin.
