Can an online broker discriminate against allowing me to trade options on the basis of age? Interactive Brokers doesn't allow me to sign up for options trading because I'm not 21 yet, but they do allow stock trading. I'm 19. Is it legal for them to do that? Where is the law that says it's legal? What basis do they have for denying me trading options with them due being less than 21. 18 is the legal adult age in US. How do I get started trading equity options and futures? I have a quant background in hedging, so I'm not asking for guidance on how to learn modeling or developing strategies for trading options. I have work experience doing option valuation and developing dynamic replication strategies, but I have never done the trading. I want to start relatively small - I'm comfortable putting about $20K at risk. I would be looking to hedge options against options while trying to limit the amount of dynamic hedging. I expect that I'll need set up some margin in addition to any net option premium. Is $20K reasonable? Are there brokers specializing in options? Does anyone recommend CME, CBOE or other tools? (I know that some exchanges offer tools for subscription.) Thanks!

Why is there a stigma on Mortgage Brokers? I'm a very hard working, honest mortgage broker for NC, MD and PA. But, there is a natural stigma against brokers. I understand there is always a "bad seed", which is the case in ANY field. Most times, a broker is the best option for a refinance, since we can shop MANY lenders guidelines to find the right loan. Whereas a lender only has their guidelines - you fit it or they turn you down. Please help me understand this, from your experience.
Mortgage options. How do I decide which is the best deal? I have two brokers trying to get my business and have good faith estimates from both that cover a range of options. This is the second time I've bought a property, but the last time was 20+ years ago and it's a blur. How do I decide which is the best deal?

Are there any whole life insurance / Roth IRA options similar to Colorado Banking? I recently spoke to an investment broker about an option offered by Colorado Banking that offers an IRA with a guaranteed interest rate where the amount you put in ($150 per month) goes toward a 80,000 whole life insurance plan and also into an IRA that would return 319,000 at the end of 45 years. I've done the math and it does work itself out, but I'm curious if there are any companies that compete with the same type of plan.

What are my options when I was lured into signing a lease when we were suppose to be renting to own? One year ago this month we were lured into signing a lease on a property that was suppose to rent to own. I was told that we had to be in a lease a year before transfering it over to rent to own I was also told that the $6500 we have paid in rent would be counted torward the rent to own. However none of this has happened and I recently found out that the person that rented it to me is a real estate broker and he does not even own the house. What are my options Please Help! The only reason we signed the lease is because we were lied into it. I have documentation proving this.

For instance, for CVS, with that list, I could easily check that the standard options start with 'CVS' and ignore the others. Currently, I need to check each ticker from my online broker's website, which is troublesome.

I own ISO stock options in a private company. Who can I sell them to? I own fully vested ISO stock options in a private company. Now, tracking their valuation is going to be hard to do, but the thought came to me about who can I sell them to if I chose to do so? These are not the kind of stocks one can just list with a broker. At least, this is true based on what I know about them.
Is there a recommended amount for starting out w/ options? I've been doing a lot of reserach on (call options). But it seems pretty pointless to waste $500-$1000 to only gain maybe $20-$100. Then you have to take in account for broker fee's,contract fee's,trade fee's. Is there an idea amount that one should have before purchasing options. If anyone knows of a good website where I can continue to educate myself on options, it would be helpful.
Options trading in India? I have been trading options in the US for a long time. I would like to know if the Indian options market is similar to the US options market. I am not sure if any options broker in India can handle the sophisticated option tools. I have dual citizenship of USA and India.
How do I limit losses on equity options? I have traded equity option on UK FT100/Liffe for about a year and I make money on approx 4 out of 6 trades but lose my shirt on the remaining two. My problem is I cannot sit and watch the screen all day so when the market moves against me I am frequently already to late to reverse or sell my position. I have asked the broker and they tell me it is market driven and there is no opportunity to electronically limit a loss on a position but I cannot believe that the major players do not have that facility. I use a system called myBroker which is a bit clunky and I am now thinking a little expensive.
Can you buy stock options with a LLC? I know there are plenty of advantages to buying real estate with a LLC, and an online broker site that I buy stock options through lets you open an account with a LLC. I was wondering if the same benefits apply to stock options with a LLC that exist with buying and owning real estate. (i.e. tax advantages, asset protection, ect.) Has anybody done this or know if it works the same as it does with real estate.
