Advice on an Options Trade? I was looking at buying 100 contracts on the Jun 21 Call of TTWO at a 2.90 Premium and strike of 17.50 (+TUOFW) on Ameritrade. There aren’t too many tutorials for this scenario. A)Would this be a “Buy to open” transaction? B)So that would be an initial purchase of $29,000 (plus commissions and contract fees), that money is gone, correct? It’s not like a stock where I maintain value, when you buy a contract the initial price is money spent? When the stock goes up to $25 (Apr 29 release of GTA IV, this is almost a guaranteed price) and I decide to exercise this for cash. C)Would this be a “Sell to close” transaction? D)Do I need to have the $175,000 in my account to buy the stock so I can sell it or is there a way I can just cash out my profit? Take the $7.50 per share ($25 share price - $17.50 strike price) and have it deposited in my account ($7.50 x 10,000 = $75,000) Please give me any more info or advice on this one deal. I do not want get into options trading after this.
Stock options and strike price? Once an option reaches its "strike price", then the option contract can be "exercised", correct? All the website tutorials say that before the option reachs the "strike price" it is worthless. But then there are bid/ask prices on options that have not reached their strike. So, can options be traded for profit/loss even when they are "out of the money"?

Tips to become an options trader? Hi I am currently a soph. in college and was wondering what I could be doing to help me pursue a career as a trader. I interned at a hedge fund last summer as an IT worker and was looking to make the step up to a trader. Are there any specific books or online tutorials that would help me learn about how to trade in the options market. Anything that you think will give me a leg up let me know. thanks
I am trying to learn programming, so that I can make games some day. WHICH PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE SHOULD I USE? Hello, I want to learn game programming so that I can make my own games. What I'm doing now is trying to make a Final Fantasy like RPG (Kind of like VI, so it'll be 2-D). I asked a question similar to this a little while ago, and someone told me to get Game Maker, so I did. I have three rooms, a bunch of sprites (that only add up to three characters and a group of soldiers chasing them :P) and a few other basic things. However, there didn't seem to be any options to make things like in game speech, trading systems, or a main menu, not to mention a level up/battle system, so I decided I would set out to learn a programming language. At first, I thought C++, because I heard that it was simple (heheh, as "simple" as a programming language can be...) and used alot. Also, my mommom had given me a book on it (though I can't understand a damn thing it says, because it seems to take something simple and use the most convoluted expressions possible) and I will be taking a class on C++ programming next year when I enter my first year of high school. However, I have also heard that Visual Basic (which I think may be a good bet because of the 'visual' part? Graphics, or is that something completely different that I don't understand as someone who's completely new to programming?) is good, along with Java. So which do I use??? C++, Java, and Visual Basic are what I've narrowed it down to...though I don't really know a thing at all :( I have a dual boot system, Linux Mandriva and Windows XP. On Windows, I got the '"Code Blocks IDE" for programming C and C++. I wrote my first program (from a free online text tutorial I found, cprogramming.com) and it worked fine. Now, I can make text appear on command prompt , and make it so it doesn't go away until I hit a button! Yahoo, hahaha! I saw a program to make text appear in VB, though, and it's 10x longer and more complicated! Well, like I said, I want to make a 2-D game like Final Fantasy VI, with battles and menus and equipment and a levelling up system, and all that good stuff. I think I'll try C++: I already have an IDE for it, I've written a few programs that show text (hey, small steps, right? I'm proud of myself, and seeing that program do what I want, even if I did copy it almost directly from cprogrammings website, was a real motivation booster :)) I found a site that gives me tutorials, and I have a book on it that maybe I'll understand; also, I take a full class on it in my first two years of high school. But please, PLEASE recommend YOUR choice of language. I want to know what you use, the pro's and con's, what it's best for...I just want to do this because it seems like Game Maker's AWFULLY limited, and who knows: maybe I might want to make a career out of it if I like it enough. Thanks again! Hope to see plenty of answers on here! :P No, I'm not going to wait 'til college to learn C++ if that's the one I choose. Whichever it is, I'm picking it and I'm going to start learning it this week. I've heard some good things about C++ so far; by the way guys, thanks alot for the answers, but...did you notice that I mentioned I had Code Blocks in the description? Anyway, I'm leaving this question open so hopefully I can get other opinions...I want to see alot of different people's different opinions. Thanks again!
If I Open a trade in forex, Does it mean I'm creating a "market order"? I'm a newbie in forex trading, just downloaded a broker platform and doing demo/practice account. There I see option called "open trade" and also called "create order". I'm confused that whether in order to open a position shall I click "open trade" or "create order" because what I learned from forex tutorials is that in order to buy or sell instantly, you should create a "market order", but in my demo practice account trade is opened by just mere clicking on "open trade", so I wonder what role plays the "create order"

Why does Sims 2 Double Deluxe keep freezing when I create a sim and try to save? I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop, and did check all of the specifications before purchasing the game, so I do not understand why it's not working? It seems like if I use the characters that the game comes with it works fine, but when I attempt to save a character that I create it locks up the game and won't move forward? It also locked up one other time when I tried to watch a tutorial that came with it. I have already checked all my specs again, though am not too sure whether the Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family that came with my computer is T&L capable, though what I read about it seemed to say that it is. I also un-installed and then reinstalled, so I have exhausted all options that I can think of...can any of you help with this issue? I hate to think that I would have to trade it in and lose money on the game since my computer cannot handle it, but I am starting to think that my computer just isn't capable...thanks!!!!

Should I go to uni or vocational school? Well it may be hard to believe but I'm 21 and I haven't done anything with my life. I've got no high school certificate, and the last four years I've pretty much just wasted, because I have depression and an anxiety problem. But I've decided I can't live this way forever and I need to make some kind of change so these are the options I've considered: ** Going to Uni PROS - Get a degree - Learn something - Maybe make contacts - Maybe study abroad - Uni is more respected than trade schools - Uni graduates make more money, obtain higher positions CONS - Too expensive ($30,000?). I already owe so much money - Don't like the social side of university, or the image of stupid partying students - Maybe I won't get a job after anyway - Too stressful, probable I'll drop out - I should've just gone when I was 17 - Maybe I'm not smart or motivated enough - No subject actually interests me enough, not confident about what to study - Most professional degrees assume you are motivated to become a high-level manager, developer etc. and I'm not - I don't like academics much - Hate the thought of sitting in boring lectures and tutorials ** Going to vocational school PROS - Get a degree - Learn something - Possible to get a job in something you like - Cheap - Not as annoying or academic as uni - I've already gone so I know the area - Degree I'm interested in only goes for 2.5 years, and some of it can be done externally - Still a degree, but practical and will help me get a job I like - Less pressure than uni CONS - Not as prestigious as university - Maybe I won't get a job after - Everyone assumes that the only real education is at uni, and you'll never go anywhere without a uni degree I've changed my preferences on my University application a million times. I suppose the reason I'm having doubts is because it seems everyone goes to university, or they are just too dumb too. What do you think?
Visitor-Uploaded Galleries: How to Approach? I need advice on how to approach a website objective. I recently completed a school trip in which many people took multiple photos throughout. I've got quite a bit of unused web-space that could be used to host galleries created by individuals from the class. How can I create a site where members from the class can create galleries and upload pictures to the site? What languages and/or tools are required to make it happen? Where can I find tutorials or other information to begin the project? Is it possible that pre-made templates exist for the type of project I'm undertaking? Where could I find them? Ideally I'd like to be able to mail out the sites location, viewable by all, with a password protected upload procedure. I would like to prompt the user to enter their name that is used to list/identify a gallery of their photos, and give the option of uploading multiple files at one time. Once uploaded I would like the site to display a list of galleries on the front page, with individual pages listing thumbnails of the files contained in the gallery. Automating these procedures is always preferable, but depending on the trade-off between complexity and expediency I do not mind manually handling some of the work involved with posting content. The main emphasis is making the procedure easy enough that members of the class will be encouraged to submit their imagery to the mix. I'm looking for thoughts and advice from others as to how they would approach the project and to be pointed some information I need to know to begin. The best answer would interpret the ideas described here, explain how they would approach things, and provide some links or information to search terms necessary to begin. Thanks! =)
